DEPUTY ACC COMMISSIONER INSPECTS 2ND AGED ENROLLMENT IN KAMBIA, PORT LOKO, AND MAKENI

NEWS ITEM

The Deputy Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Augustine Foday Ngobie, on Monday, 23rd June 2025, conducted an unannounced inspection of the ongoing 2nd Aged Enrolment Exercise in Kambia, Port Loko, and Makeni.

The visit, part of a broader monitoring mission coincided with a refresher training session for newly recruited ACC Community Monitors, NaCSA Officers, and Labour Field Staff.

During the engagements, Mr. Ngobie emphasized the importance of transparency, diligence, and integrity in the implementation of the exercise.

Addressing the assembled staff, the Deputy Commissioner stressed that the enrolment is a critical component of the Government’s social protection program, which directly targets the nation’s elderly and vulnerable. He therefore urged all involved to execute their duties with utmost professionalism.

He issued a stern warning against any form of malpractice or negligence, stating that "the success of this program depends on your honesty and hard work.”

He also cautioned field staff against leaving their assigned locations without completing their tasks, emphasizing that such behaviour would not be condoned. “If you detect any act of corruption, report it immediately to your supervisor,” he advised.

Mr. Ngobie reaffirmed that the ACC will closely monitor the process and warned that anyone found culpable of wrongdoing will face appropriate disciplinary measures. He encouraged all personnel to remain steadfast and committed to the goal of restoring public trust and delivering credible outcomes for the elderly.

His presence in Kambia, Port Loko, and Makeni reflects the Commission’s continued commitment to upholding integrity in service delivery, Project resources and ensuring the effective management of public funds across the country.
